Dewsbury Town Centre Footfall: Summer Events Drive Growth

Dewsbury Mash-up 2025

According to the latest data, Dewsbury town centre has seen a positive trend in footfall over the summer months of 2025, with figures showing an increase compared to the same period last year. From May to the end of September, average monthly footfall reached 82,193 – up from 81,367 in 2024.

The growth has been supported by a diverse range of events in recent months. Highlights include the Dewsbury Mash-up, part of the WOVEN festival; Dewsbury on Sea, which transformed the Princess of Wales Precinct into a seaside escape; and business gatherings such as the Business Network Launch at Dewsbury Town Hall. The town also participated in the Heritage Open Days programme, with venues like Dewsbury Minster and the Town Hall opening their doors to the public..

With a packed calendar of festive activities planned, and regeneration projects like the Arcade redevelopment on the horizon, there is growing optimism for continued footfall growth into 2026.
